This is how a 2000 strong liberal protest looks like...

2000 people came to a demonstration in Arkhangel'sk to protest the rise of prices. The demonstration was organised by the local Communists and got support from Zhirinovsky's Liberal Democrats, Yabloko and Solidarity (never forget to mention the latter two). So reports the Russian version of RFE/RL and now it is time to dress this report a bit, so it doesn't look so shabby. Here come illustrations...

This is how a 2000 strong protest looks like...

I wonder who that great democratic leader, this crowd came to venerate, is? Liberal Democrats didn't bring their blue flags with them on this occasion, I don't see any white and orange flags flying either. Anyway let's look at the future liberal elite...

Hat tip goes out to Barak Obmana; illustrations were taken from here.

There were a few Solidarnost' flags (see Ilya Yashin's blog: http://yashin.livejournal.com/882364.html), but you're absolutely right that anything but a closeup photograph reveals how piddling and chaotic this 'great upheaval of the people' really was.

Solidarnost' really has no excuse, too. They even have a local branch in Arkhangel'sk: http://www.rusolidarnost.ru/regiony-solidarnosti/arkhangelskaya-oblast-i-nenetskii-avtonomnyi-okrug

There is even a lone Oborona flag, but it clearly shows that they joined a commie party. Seeing Yashin telling that social message is just laughable.

I am reading the comments under Yashin's post:

"Читаем на сайте КПРФ:

На главную площадь Архангельска вышли представители 15 независимых профсоюзов региона. К акции КПРФ присоединилось и местное отделение "Солидарности"

Something tells me that Solidarity didn't learn anything from Kaliningrad.
